A video circulating on social media shows an unusual robbery that took place in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City, where a robber on a scooter deliberately allowed himself to be hit by a Tesla vehicle. Later, when the driver of the car got out to help the supposed injured person, he and an armed accomplice carried out the robbery.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 6, 2021, and was recorded by a witness in another vehicle behind the scene. The video shows how the Tesla hits the man on the scooter, after which the driver approaches to check his condition. At that moment, the robber gets up and corners him, while a second accomplice arrives with a firearm to carry out the robbery.
The witness, for safety reasons, left the scene but continued observing through the rearview mirror. He recorded the moment when the robbers fled on a motorcycle parked on the median strip. Although the identities of those responsible have not been revealed, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) has begun investigations to track them down.
The SSC reported that they are conducting both cabinet and field investigations to identify the likely culprits.
